Is cleaning my report legal?
Yes. Absolutely. Your right to dispute
items on your credit report is explicitly granted by
the United States Congress in the
Fair Credit Reporting Act (and other laws).
Unfortunately, because it requires extra work to
investigate as the law mandates, the credit bureaus
would have you falsely believe that there is
something wrong with disputing items even though it
is absolutely within your rights to do so. Disputing
items on your credit report is as legal as pleading
“NOT GUILTY” in a court of law. These laws were
enacted for the very purpose of giving you the power
of the law to back you up against the intrusion of
the credit bureaus into your life. It also offers a
checks and balance system. If you were not able to
question the reporting of information and it's
validity, accuracy, and ownership, then the bureaus
could get away with reporting anything that they
wanted to.

Are credit bureaus a government agency?
Absolutely NOT! They are simply privately
owned companies that make money by selling your
information to anyone who will buy it.

Is there anything that NC Credit Repair can do
that I can't do myself?
NCCR is simply a service. There is
nothing we do that you can't do all by yourself.
However most people do not have the time, patience,
or the know how to deal with the credit bureaus,
collectors, creditors, and court rooms. This is
where we can help. We'll tell you exactly what
you need to do in order to sit back and watch your
credit score grow.
We encourage consumers to dispute their own credit
if they have the time and knowledge to do so. If you
don't have the time to research or do the work we
suggest then you can hire us to do it for you.

What if I only have a small amount of bad credit?
It only takes a small amount of bad credit to result
in a denial. In fact just one late payment may be
enough. Even a large amount of positive credit can
not offset negative items. The smallest amount of
negative credit can significantly hurt your credit
rating.

How long will it
take?
Credit repair varies from person to person.
We’ve seen results in less than two-weeks for some
people, and others it takes 90 days or more.
Most people get the results they need within 30-75
days. We can better tell you once we see your
credit reports.
Your participation will play
a major factor in how quickly we can help you
achieve your goals. It is imperative that you do the
things that you can control in a timely fashion.
Other factors that may influence the speed with
which we can help you achieve your desired results
include the complexity and nature of your case, and
the cooperation of those with whom you correspond. |

I want a company that will just take care of
everything for me! Can you help?
NCCR's services
are the closest you can get to a legal and
“hands-off” full credit repair scenario.
There is no company I’ve ever seen that will do all
of this for you. You would have to hire 2-4 different specialized
companies to do (some of) the work, and most often your credit score
will go DOWN during this process, and it will absolutely cost you
hundreds of dollars more.
Debt Settlement, Debt Consolidation, and Debt
Counseling services are usually horrible, or outright fraudulent in
their practices. They will almost always RUIN your credit.
Especially NON-PROFIT companies. There is only one I’d even
slightly recommend and even if they can help with your debt problems
your credit score will most likely PLUMMET.
“Credit Repair” companies are even worse.
If they are not out-right fraudulent (most are) they
will flood the bureaus with dispute letters and
charge you an arm and a leg for it. Not only
does this rarely work, the bureaus usually red-flag
you case file making future disputes near
impossible. Also, they usually dispute
everything on your file with no thought on how it
will affect your overall score. Often your
scores will go DOWN with these companies. Even
if they do go up, it will have cost you literally
HUNDREDS of dollars to get what you needed done.
You could have done this yourself in about 15 mins
for FREE!
No company does debt settlement for you.
No company does legal letters for you
(unless you go to a lawyer with the laws in hand).
No company analyzes your credit report for
other ways to raise your credit.
The cost to you for each of these services
is usually $400 - $1000, not to mention how much
they cost together. However, if you wish to go
this route I can recommend a couple companies that
may be able to help some.

Will Deleted
Items Reappear?
While rare, there are times when a creditor will
eventually verify information that has already been
deleted from your credit report. The federal law
requires a credit bureau to inform you prior to
re-listing a previously deleted item. This same
federal law makes it more difficult than ever for a
credit bureau to re-list a deleted item. Therefore,
although it is technically possible for a deleted
item to reappear on your credit report it is highly
unlikely.
Don’t worry, if an item reappears on your credit
report we can help you dispute it at a future date
and work towards a permanent deletion.
|
top
Should I
continue to pay my bills?
Whether an item is deleted from your credit
report or not, if the underlying debt is still owed
you are still responsible for it. Removal of such an
item from your credit report is only a temporary
solution. If the debt is still accurate and owed,
the creditor or collection agency can, and most
likely will, re-report the item to the bureau.
Removing the listing without addressing the debt is
only a temporary solution.

If I pay my bills won't my credit improve?
Although this makes sense, it unfortunately
doesn’t work this way.
In reality, when you pay down an existing debt
the negative item in your credit report doesn’t go
away with the debt. Instead, when you pay this debt
the creditor will report this payment late and the
seven year time period will re-start. So even though
you paid, they will report it as a late payment.
Even worse, generally a current negative listing
is not treated any better than an unpaid negative
listing. Therefore, you get no bonus points in
respect to your credit report for doing the right
thing and bringing your account current.
The only real solution is to both work towards
optimizing your credit while at the same time
fulfilling your payment obligations to your
creditors.

Can I pay per dispute?
There is no charge for our services. We do
not recommend going to a "Credit Repair
Organization". You can do everything they do
and a lot more for little to no costs and we can
show you how.
|
top
Can you delete
bankruptcies?
It is difficult, and not always the best course
of action, but NCCR has successfully removed
bankruptcies from credit reports, as well as items
included in bankruptcy (we'll tell you how free of
charge).
|
top
Do you charge in
advance?
If you hire our services, we'll charge you for
setting up your case and the time it takes to
develop the strategies on your behalf. We'll
do the repair portion for free. Select a service
